As A Man Acts
Dear
What is the current status of your life and business?
Do you like where you are?
If not, what are you doing about it?
Let's explore this topic together in today's devotional:
You believe that there is one God. You do well.
Even the demons believe—and tremble!
But do you want to know, O foolish man,
that faith without works is dead?
- James 2:19-20 (NKJV)
The book of James is known as the New Testament’s book of wisdom. It provides practical application to put our faith into action. The overall theme of the book of James is that if what you claim to believe is not expressed through your practical actions, then you do not truly believe it. It even suggests that demons demonstrate more faith than some Christians - due to the fact that at least they tremble because they believe God exists! Yet for some of us, there is little “trembling” - little evidence of our belief in God’s existence, either in how we live our lives or how we operate our business.
Is your life and business in line with your beliefs?
Does your action match your convictions?
Your life and business are evidence of your belief in God’s existence and a demonstration of your active faith when:
- You do not allow fear and doubt to hinder you from pursuing God’s promises for your life
- You live out God’s Word no matter what, even if it means recognizing when you fall short
- Your actions are aligned with your faith and values
- You do not adjust God’s Word to fit your circumstances
If you are not satisfied with the current state of your life and business, then you must do something about it! Remember, faith or belief without works or action will not bear fruit. If you stop talking and just do, you will surely see change.
It is important to act on what you believe and say because:
- Action validates what you believe and say
- Action moves your business and personal goals and objectives forward
- Action helps you realize your dreams
- Action helps you defeat depression and anxiety
- Action demonstrates the fruit of your faith
- Action inspires others to act
- Action gives you momentum
In all labour there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty.
- Proverb 14:23 (NKJV)
My prayer for you today is that God will give you the grace and conviction to act on what you believe and say so that you can realize His full plan and purpose for your life and business.
Reflection: Do you act and believe on what you say?
