Wise men worship him
Do you consider yourself wise? How do you define wisdom? Are you a worshiper of Christ?
"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have come to worship Him.O'"
Psalm 14:1a states, "The fool has said in his heart💙, 'There is no God.'" I was once that fool. I mocked Christians and considered them weak, naïve, and hypocritical. I openly confessed the lack of the existence of a God, even leading a debate in high school where I made the case that there was no God. I was foolish and unwise. I viewed wisdom as one’s ability to cultivate one’s intellect and be in control of his own destiny.✨ The Bible declares in Psalm 111:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.” One cannot truly be wise unless he acknowledges the existence of God and fully submits himself to the Lord.
True wisdom is the fear of the Lord with understanding.
It is the recognition of one’s limitations with the understanding of how to apply the knowledge we have with common sense. 🎓
Knowledge alone is not wisdom💭, but knowledge with the fear of the Lord and understanding is wisdom. At the time of Jesus’ birth, there were many who were considered wise because they were knowledgeable; leaders of businesses, leaders of nations, and religious leaders.👑 But very few of these men noticed the birth of the King of Kings or sought Him to worship Him – except these wise men from the East. King Herod knew of His birth but being foolish, tried to use that knowledge to advance his own agenda. These wise men from the East were not even Jews. They were not supposed to be in tune with Old Testament prophecies. But they not only knew it, they followed its signs. What made these men wise and how can we follow their example today? They modeled seven key characteristics:
They recognized their limitation
They feared God
They studied the Scriptures
They discerned the times and season
They were led by the Spirit
They obeyed the leading of the Spirit
They worshiped the Savior🙏
Among all these seven characteristics, the greatest one which Biblical Entrepreneurs must possess is the ability and humility to worship the Savior. It requires us to recognize that He is Lord of All, Creator of the Universe, Captain of Our Soul, the Prince of Peace, and Master of Our Destiny. We must worship Him, and put Him above all things. We must openly confess His name. We must shout of His goodness, and we must adhere to His commandments in all aspects of our lives.
🙌 We must worship Him by submitting everything in our lives and business wholeheartedly to Him. This Christmas season, when we celebrate His birth, is a great time to do that. Of course, we should do this in all seasons, but Christmas is a special time when we must be especially intentional. How wise are you? How are you worshiping the Savior? 👀 ⛪️
My prayer for you today is that you may demonstrate your wisdom by walking in the fear of the Lord and seeking ways to worship Him in your life and business.🙏
